Today we had the TAC and MDA meeting with Dr Das and OT, Ed Psych, SLT, SEN, HV, DISW, and others to discuss ADOS, ROCK and probably many more abbreviations, now my brain hurts! It's like everyone was talking in a special code and we needed several interpretations to get us through the meeting!
Basically, we met with the Team Around the Child (TAC) for the Multi-Disciplinary Assessment. In the meeting was the Disability Inclusion worker, Speech and Language therapist, Educational Psychologist, Occupational therapist, us, Physiotherapist, Special needs nursery worker, Portage worker, Specialist Health Visitor and Dr Das, the consultant paediatrician - all these people in the same room for our little boy, it was quite surreal. Everyone introduced themselves to each other and they spoke on their reports and how they have observed Reuben, what they are currently doing and what they will do next.
I'll keep it brief! The main points to come from the meeting are:
Speech and language to start 6 week course from next week, 4 sessions at Broadoaks and 2 at the nursery.
Portage to review and continue 20 more sessions.
Physiotherapy have referred us for a helmet fitting following Reuben's fall and previous bumps to the head. He is to try and use his walking frame more.
Occupational Therapy to monitor and visit to measure up for a new ramp to the back door on Monday.
Educational Psychologist to review in March
Nursery manager to become lead professional.
Dr Das to see us again in November.
Disability Inclusion Worker to visit more in the pre-school year before he starts school.
So that's it - I think we kind of know what's happening! We'll see what comes from the report and try and de-code it, I'm sure I've missed loads!
