Reuben was seen by the neurologist Dr. De Goede who confirmed that Reuben has quite an extreme case of Bimanual Synkinesia. he explained that when babies are small the brain separates into 2 functioning halves, the right controlls the left and vise versa but sometimes this doesn't happen and both sides work together. sometimes people can grow out of it but he will be monitored and referred to physiotherapy. He said that Reuben may have trouble doing things like writing, driving and feeding himself when he is older.
